Meet Our Team

SHELLEY IVORY - Principal

As a sports person herself Shelley has always enjoyed learning and understanding about how the body moves and the varying demands that different movements and sports place on the body.  She is an APA Titled Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist after completing a post-graduate degree in Sports and Exercise Physiotherapy from La Trobe University, on top of a Bachelor of Allied Health (Physiotherapy) from Sydney University.  She is also a Connect Therapy and Integrated Systems Practitioner.

Shelley has worked across a variety of workplaces in both the UK and Australia in both Public and Private Health, as well as with the British Armed Forces.  On top of this she has had experience and enjoyed working with a variety of different teams and sports including NSW U23 Softball, NSW Indoor Netball, North Shore AFL, Gordon Rugby, Sydney Kings, the Newcastle Knights and the Australian Ballet.  Shelley is also an APPI Certified Pilates Practitioner and a presenter with the APPI (through Unite Health Management) and teaches health professionals to how deliver Pilates to patients.

Shelley has a particular clinical interest in the treatment of lumbo-pelvic pain, hip, thoracic/ rib dysfunction and sporting and trauma injury and rehabilitation.

She is passionate about identifying and addressing any underlying causes of pain rather than just treating the noticeable symptoms.

In her spare time she is the mum of two gorgeous girls, a softball player and a property flipper with her husband.

DENISE GARCIA - Physiotherapist

Denise graduated with a Master in Physiotherapy from the University of Sydney.

Over the years, Denise has developed strong diagnostic skills and believes in utilising treatment interventions focused on efficient rehabilitation, patient self management and importantly, injury prevention. She regularly attends courses and engages with new research, in-order to incorporate evidence based treatments into her practice.

Having also completed a Bachelor in Exercise and Sports Science, Denise enjoys employing her knowledge to develop and prescribe exercise programs for rehabilitation, sports performance and general fitness. Denise is also a Pilates instructor, completing all her training with the Australian Physiotherapy & Pilates Institute.

Denise has a kind and caring nature. She believes it is vital to have great communication, to be able to empower people to feel in control of their recovery. Whilst she is able to help with all areas of musculoskeletal physiotherapy, Denise has a special interest in ankles, knees and hips.

On a personal level, Denise has a strong interest in health and well-being. As well as exercising for fitness, in her free time Denise and her family (and dogs) enjoy the outdoors. She is also an enthusiastic skier and is always eagerly awaiting the winter months. And lastly, she loves cooking and is always trying to find new and exciting healthy recipes (but hates doing the dishes).
